Back to School Supplies - 3 Must Haves For a School Locker

Essential Locker Accessories

The start of the new school year is arriving shortly and I am sure the list of back to school supplies is increasing by the day. Most teachers, during the first week of school, provide specific lists of supplies needed for each class. In addition to class supplies, gym supplies, and locker accessories are also needed. Here are three basics supplies that will be needed for a school locker.

Disinfectant Wipes

First and most important thing to be done, before anything is put inside of the locker, is to clean and disinfect it. Most schools janitorial staff that clean the lockers, at some point during the summer break, may just do a topical cleaning and sticker residue, food crumbs or simply dust may very well, be left behind. Use disinfectant wipes to clean the insides of the locker. Additionally, the wipes can also be used to wipe the outside of the locker door and handle. The cleanup can be done quickly however, if the condition of the locker appears as if the cleanup cannot be completed with a couple of wipes, the school office should be notified.

Air Fresheners

After the locker is disinfected and it is now nice and clean, a nice fragrance will put the icing on the cake. There are several types of air fresheners available but the easiest way to give a nice aroma to the locker would be to use the type that can be affixed to the door or wall of the locker. Check local supermarkets or variety stores in the air fresheners section where a wide array of scents can be found.

Combination Locks

Sad but true, theft in schools does occur. Securing belongings and valuable is a must. Some school lockers have locks built into them but other do not. In the case there is not a built in lock on the locker, a combination lock must be purchased. Most combination locks have a code consisting of three or four digit series of numbers and there are even some available that allow a personal code to be set. This code should be written down in two or three different places in case it is forgotten and never given out to friends.

There are lots of stuff available for school lockers, but these are items that are essential and should be at the top of all back to school lists.

Colonial Candles

!±8± Colonial Candles

I've found that the best way to improve my mood is with the fragrance of beautiful candles.

My favorites are Colonial Candles.

They come in a lovely variety of colors and scents, and I especially like that the company is on top of current color shades. After all, who wants to display the old avocado green and orange of the 1970s?

But I digress.

If you've ever walked into a room and felt enveloped by the fragrance of warm baked cookies, a tantalizing pine forest, fresh clean linen or cinnamon apple pie, you'll know what I mean. These comforting fragrances can relax me, help me to forget stress and trial, and even help me get to sleep in the evening.

Do you find that fragrances transport you to another place? Another time?

Then you, too, will want to consider Colonial Candles.

Colonial offers candles in a wide variety of styles, including the timeless taper (think long, elegant candles on your dinner table), jar candles, tealights, votives, pillars and even the new square "flared" jar. Colonial Candles burn a long time (the company states that it takes about 90 minutes to burn an inch of the Grande Classic Candle), and they use real essential oils for fragrance, so that you get just as much scent at the beginning of the candle as you do when it is nearly gone.

Another benefit to these candles is that they tend to burn without drips, and they are clean-burning, so no soot on your walls!

These candles are great to help you feel relaxed, comforted or romantic. They offer special scents to help you celebrate a special occasion, or just entertain friends and family. Of course, they make great gifts!

Some people like to place Colonial Candles in a special room, like maybe the bath or den. Be sure to use trays or several display stands for your candles, and group them by color and fragrance. One of my favorite ways to experience the soothing bouquet of aroma (doesn't that paint a picture?!?) is around my jacuzzi tub. I place several candles of the same scent around me in glass holders, turn off the lights and luxuriate in the tub. Heaven!

You can find candles in more than 50 different fragrances so you can please just about anyone, or find that perfect scent to match your mood.
